The economic system is very important. I believe more so than the political system. A capitalist economic system embraces more laissez-faire and equal opportunity, whilst a socialist economic system embraces more economic interventionism and equal outcome.
If you think about it, even in a democratic political system the elected official becomes a dictator if the economy is socialistic and centrally controlled. A good example of this would be Adolf Hitler and NAZI Germany.

Can’t you see you’re being manipulated.
One question ~ do you make less $250,000/yrs – if you do than you’re due for a tax cut under Obama.
Nothing to be afraid of –
McCain can’t tell you that he wants to give a tax cut to Exxon Mobil who just made $14.5bn last quarter. McCain is too embarrassed to tell you that he thinks that these guys should have a tax cut over the poor and middle class worker – likely like yourself.
So McCain spends all his time calling Obama names.

so he puts it like this – Joe the Plumber (not McCain and not Palin) says Obama’s tax plan is socialist.
A tax rate which was the same under Clinton for the top 5% earners and the same (or lower) under Ronald Reagan for the 95% of workers.
Notice McCain never actually says Obama is a socialist – because he doesn’t believe it.
McCain needs you to vote against your own interests — so he could give the wealthiest in society a tax cut – and have that trickle down to you. Something which has not worked – in the past – in fact if you look at the state of the economy – this idea failed.
